Art X April 6-10, 2011

OK, so I'm running late on this post.  Art X is a variety of locations hosting visual, literary, and performance artists who have been awarded the Kresge Fellowship awards since 2008.  Opening night at MOCAD (Museum of Contemporary Arts Detroit) was full to capacity and I wasn't able to attend.

Take a look if you have a chance.  Sunday's schedule:

  • MOCAD  2009 Kresge Visual Artist Fellows  April 6-24
  • "Street Folk" Environmental Installation by Tyree Guyton (who also did the Heidleberg Project) April 7-24th  outdoors on Edmund Place and Woodward (3 blocks south of Mack)
  • “Brixels” Wall Paintings by Cedric Tai Midtown sites (see map on Locations page) April 6-28
  • Spirit Renewal Sculpture  by Charles McGee On the grounds of the Horace H. Rackham Educational Memorial Building, corner of John R Street @ Farnsworth (across John R. from the Detroit Science Center)
